After inhabiting Don Brash's brain for so long with the award winning parody Twitter account @drbrash, i always get a fright when I see that particular photo of him and remember he isn't a fever dream bought on by sniffing too much glue.

It was a mighty piece of work and it saddens me to know you have had to suffer for it 😎

Yep - this country is quite cross.

Mr Richardson seems like our Mr Pohe at Wellington college - too lazy to run a PE class at which he might have to demonstrate exercises so his default was to send us off on a rough track up the slopes of Mt Victoria.

I went with my father once to watch a cross country race. He,was an official in a harrier club and I think he thought I'd catch the running bug. What I saw was a young woman whose shoes had come off in the mud and her feet were cut and bleeding and she was crying non stop but still running. I didn't think that was me and it took another 59 years before I took up running.

Thanks. At 65 I started on a couch to 5 programmer. I thought 5 km was, amazing and that would do but the I did 10km and then a half marathon in Wellington Round The Bays... just to see and to walk most of it but I ran the whole thing, then did it again in Queenstown, although I'll concede I kept stopping to takes photos on my phone... both half VERY slowly, but my goal was just to finish without dying..... 😁... SO proud

Really enjoy your Kia Kaha School posts David. Bring back many memories especially around Cross Country Day and those who took until tomorrow afternoon to finish. In hindsight it probably wasn't their thing - or we needed a Mr Goldsmith!!
