Thanks for the diversion - either side of the 5:15 press conference informing us it was a rampant terrorist cut down fast! Thinking of those who were injured and bracing for the point-scorers leaping in to (attempt to) make political capital.
Now - riffing off one item in your excellent Friday bulletin:
My father, b.1911, grew up in Greymouth. He was always told to leave a little on his plate for manners. For some time he believed there was a swagman named Manners who would come to the backdoor each night ...
You have to remember that Scomo thinks of death as a chance to go to heaven, at least for those not as saintly as himself. He will, of course, be raptured into the sky.
I had to stop the scaffolding video at the point where we're looking ALL the way down. Remember the pics of the men who built the skyscrapers, like all sitting on a big beam hanging in the air, to eat their lunches? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDN4c2wnx3E
Just wtf with the false moral equivalence between the inconvenience of lockdown vs actually fucking dying? What is it with RW pollys and their cult of (other people's) deaths? Despicable and disgraceful. Lack of empathy, btw, is a key indicator of psychopathy and research indicates psychopaths are over represented in leadership roles vs their representation in the population as a while. Enter specimen A, Gladts and B, Scotty.
I just couldn't watch the scaffolder......it hurt.
Horrible attitudes in NSW, and Canberra. I have quite a few rellies over there, several in Sydney, and a couple are very vulnerable. I hope and pray they're being very careful.

Did ScoMo really say that about the deaths? A new low for one of the worst people still alive today.
Incredible. So was Gladys. I am horrified for all the friends and family in those states.

I confess. I was livid yesterday.
Thanks for bringing perspective back into focus. There are quite enough dickheads to be angry at.

Ditto. I could physically feel the adrenaline in my bloodstream 😬😬😬
In the Smithsonian doco, narrator says 2 out of 5 of these workers died or were disabled during their time as roughnecks.
Mum I got job as a scaffolder...
Got my first covid vaccine today, the rest of the family next week.

Being kind "at least a bit of a devalued currency." The money men are the subversives imo
Oh, BTW - I always thought loudest were ZZ Top during some concert in Texas.
Very possible - was just an entry in an edition, not necessarily still standing
The only time I've ever felt queasy engaging with you...the scaffolders. Remarkable talent. have a look at Fred Dibnah on Youtube. Humour as well.
7. GOD DAMN
What undid you Jackson?
Desert Road. Paul Keating. The Go Gos. What a bunch
The Desert road one was most certainly set up to daunt :)
I saw scaffolding similar to that in São Paulo. My first thought was "They can't have a construction workers' union."
