Isn't funny how the bike, e or ambient, has become 'the vehicle of the future' in a way the Segway never did.
Regularly bike commuted 1 way via Devonport in the evenings (a westie who comes around the Upper Harbour to work in the morning) before WFH became a thing. Would have more use for Skypath than the Devo tube, cycling the Lake Rd carpark isn't much fun, but plenty of room for both
Loved your description of Auckland. Reminded me of Austin Mitchell who, in his wonderful book The Half-Gallon Quarter Acre Pavlova Paradise, described Auckland as a collection of suburbs masquerading as a city... Still true today.
E-biking into the city from Kaukapakapa would be an interesting way to spend 6 hours I guess... e-bikes are good for people already in or near the bit of a city they need to get to. Other than that there is no way in as there is nowhere to park after 7am.
I’d like a Devonport Tube and a Skypath and a $7.99 sub and some chips, please.
Dammit - I was about to write this very thing (only not half as well as you did Michelle).
Now with extra fries :) xxxx

PS: I'd happily pay $7.99.
For sure - I'm also looking forward to the Skypath, can see them both having immense value. And cheers for the thumbs up!

His eye was perfect, eh.
I'd happily pay $7.99 a month. I want that Sunday column. And an e bike now curiously....
That's great to hear, thanks so much Edith. Really, really recommend the e-bike too :)

For sure. E-bikes for the short distances, other vehicles for longer. Done right, could make it better for everyone.
I love your daily musings. Yes I'd pay $7.99 for the jolly chuckles it gives me ... I also love your description of Auckland.
Love this. Thanks Helen!
Even if National doesn't get in and i don't get my tax cut, i should be able to manage $7.99. Sign me up.
Bless you Alexa :)
Very happy to pay $7.99 a month! Thanks for your mahi, David.
Thanks very much Anna! Glad.
How about some E-trikes for the elderly and those with inner-ear balance issues, or inner-child revisitation wishes?
I knew we wouldn't have to wait long for the Slack Travelator! Sign me up
