Newshub is pretty much NZ Newsmax by now. I'm wondering whether there must be some "jilted lover in the past" story behind Tova's desperate need to undermine and weaken everything Ardern is doing.

It seems that in this era when PR hacks convince politicians that "perception is reality" Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition has seen its TAXPAYER FUNDED duty as undermining confidence in the government at any cost. Tova O'Brien is the epitome of a voracious media thirsting for blood on the floor and, at the drop of a hat, a head on a plate.

Yup! Pretty much what I was stewing over these last few days. Getting pretty tired of the hour by hour vaccination shambles-athon predictive text media. Oh, and being affronted by the full page Heather of Newstalk NZ ad in the Listener today - gagged on my lunch at the "Every view. From every angle" tag line. House of mirrors?

I also don't like terms such as life hack. Tip is a very efficient use of letters.

Store your peanut butter jar upside down. The oil redistributes through the jar and you’re not left with dry PB at the bottom. Life transforming.

As far as I am aware, we do not even have a moderately sized party that really wants to really change the economic system we have had since 1984. I had some hope for the Greens, but on talking to Metiria in 2017, I found that they think (or thought, I live in hope) that broad based taxation is desirable and therefore would have no plans to get rid of GST. I can't think of much, except maybe building 10,000 state houses yesterday, that could have a similar sized effect as abolishing GST and moving back to a more progressive taxation system.

By the way, David, are you going to weigh in on the science debate that's going on? I'm sure you would have something cogent and valuable to say.
