Dunne probably doesn't have any memories from when he was eleven because 1965 was the most boring and uneventful year in New Zealand history.

Does not relieve him of responsibility for the deaths caused by his completely incompetent mishandling of the synthetic cannabis (licencing & control) issue and its subsequent, predicted, black market resurgence.

Self-righteous fop.

I remember that watching the news at six o'clock at home or when at my grandparents was basically compulsory when I was a kid.

My first encounter with a politician was when Walter Nash addressed the Men's Fellowship at St Barnabas Church, Khandallah. If I was 10 it would have been 1955. Maybe it was the election year of 1957 on his way to becoming PM.

I recall being entranced by Nash's Kidderminster accent. And he seemed old - because he was - in his 70s (which, of course, is not old these days).
