Sunny in Wellington but chilly. WFH and still glum but less so after reading about the fake high school address. That IS activism. And doctors who believe in Covid19 conspiracies...aliens are among us too.
Colour me cynical but I see that Todd Who? is falling on his sword in such a slow fashion that it will allow him to receive full whack of the very generous superannuation benefits available to MPs that manage to serve three terms, assuming he contributed. (He can't be that much of a mug, not to have, can he?)
But there's the opportunity cost of missing out on all the fun political patter that comes out of a by-election. Having run in one myself as a joke candidate (and not coming last) you cannot put a price on democracy/lols.
BOP by-election scenario - the 3,400 Nat majority evaporates as Act and NZ First split the ant-Labour vote while the pro-Labour vote increases, so Angie Warren-Clark becomes the electorate MP for BOP and the lovely Lemauga Lydia Sosene comes in on the Labour list.
Alternative scenario: Pop Up Leader places stalwart ally Harete Hipango as BOP candidate. Hipango creates thousands and thousands of alt Facebook accounts to comment on her own posts congraulating her on getting the nomination and looking forward to her becoming the next Member for Bay of Plenty. She spends all her time making facebook comments and forgets to actually campaign, thus ensuring a large potted cactus with a cardboard cut out of Steve Parr's face stapled to it, wins in a landslide.
Ooh, this is such good money well spent! So many good things, bad things, found & written about, talked about in a tone like the bestest dinner party ever. Laughter, outrage, cleverness.
While we’re handing out some recriminations, save some for our media. They always seem to find time for another business that is suffering the loss of money and yes I feel sorry for their loss. But somehow there is never as much time in the news for those suffering long COVID or those whose business is suffering because they’re dead. So yeah the media need to share some blame for the constant pressure to open our borders to increase profit and increase the risk of death.

A more preferable delta? https://youtu.be/OOYBlPUrwLA
How is it a resignation if he's going to stick around collecting his backbencher salary for 2 years? Just quit you spineless sack of potato starch.
Hmmm - but we will be saved the cost of a byelection ...

But if he quit before his full three terms he wouldn’t collect the retirement package would he?
Paul Rodgers was such a BABE as well as the best rock singer of his time. Still makes me blush to listen to this. https://youtu.be/TeZqjZ_kvLY

Much as I love the works of Mr Rogers, I think you missed a trick but not linking a track from Modern Life Is Rubbish… otherwise, top column.
