Apart from Whalespew himself, those involved in the Dirty Politics saga seem to have done rather well for themselves. It sickens me to see Jordan Williams having any sort of influence on the way Auckland is run. I was hoping he would have come to Wairoa with the racist 3 Waters/ACT roadshow. I was feeling inspired by his philosophising, particularly his declaration "Women, what use are they? If they didn't have c..ts, we'd throw rocks at them." I assumed he didn't have one and had identified some nice rocks, but he didn't turn up.

Selling the airport doesn't seem to make any fiscal sense at all. I'm just wondering which of Wayne's mates are lined up to buy shares, and who might have airport adjacent properties. I have little doubt some form of corruption is at the heart of his proposal.

There are persistant rumours that wayne brown and entities associated with him have large land holdings adjacent to North Port in whangarei and will beenefit hugely by moving the Port from auckland to this location.

I find such rumours quite credible.

What a great shame that a candidate so obviously pragmatic and hard working as Pippa is did not make it back to bring some grown up debate to this budget fiasco. It also is really evident that the same Dirty Politics has pervaded our MSM as we rarely have news anymore and instead have just opinions and gotcha style click bait - most of this being right wing biased. Wood /Uffindell.

Why didn’t Pippa make it back? The campaigns against her deserve some analysis and the perpetrators exposed.

I mean, given the ridiculously tiny bio in the local election pamphlets, it would actually be handy if people who supported things like cycleways and decent public services did dress up as clowns during their campaign - that way it would be much easier to see who to vote for.

Wayne Brown was never going to be the Mayor this city needs and his first “final” budget proves it. I fervently hope that voters treat the next local body election with a lot more care and attention. Climate change and population increases will not wait for ditherers.

I despair at the quality of the leaders we see. And fear for my sanity if the nacts get in. The short sighted small reward that these folks are pushing down on us , savings debt reduction it’s so sad. So few stand to gain how can we show this to people ?

Thanks for this, David and Pippa - althought I felt sure the 'shock doctrine' was premeditated I wasn't aware of the people pulling the strings. I suppose they, and their funders, are standing in line to buy up Airport shares knowing their value will increase.

Is it true NZ's wealthiest man and biggest Wayne Brown mayoral campaign contributor, Graeme Hart, has also invested in a lot of land surrounding Auckland Airport? To be a fly on the wall at that funding meeting.

Another “Brown Knows” moment, where he knows better than everyone else, so doesn’t have to bother with justifying anything

When is the next mayoral election and can he be impeached or something before then?
