As it happens, their isn't even a worst-case scenario. If they conclude that 5 probably received a harmless saline jab, they will give all 732 another shot. That means that 5 will, at at the very least, be fully vaccinated while 727 will have the bonus of a booster. Definitely a capital offence!
I do think seven weeks is far too long a time to learn this and then seemingly only because RNZ released the information. Yes,saline injected is harmless but I would want to know what had or hadn't been injected into me as soon as they knew. It's my body and no one has the right to withhold that information from me and I'd be very annoyed and possibly a bit alarmed to find it out weeks later on the news.
