Such memories have I of the train from Wellington to Auckland and back again. The Raurimu Spiral! Taumaranui on the main trunk line! The boring bit at the end going in to Auckland (I doubt I'd find it boring now). I was going to do the trip up to Auckland this month but I got a contract extended... I LOVE trains. I don't love Mike H but sometimes I listen to him because I marvel at how many words he can speak in a minute. I just listen to the individual words though. I don't bother to connect them together. Had my first vaccination today. I am now being controlled by the One World Government of 5G..... get out of chair... go to cupboard..get dish and can opener... oh wait, that's the cat wanting her dinner...
Loved the train words and pictures. Begun reading today's bulletin just after hitting 'play' on the first single from the upcoming YES album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbGEa7ju8bg
I appear to have developed a complete immunity to even second-hand rendition of reckons by MyCockskins. I feel nothing at all any more, not even mild annoyance. Poor guy has sunk to his perfectly appropriate level of complete irrelevance.
NZ should have had a small to medium real estate market crash a few years ago but now we need a big one. I suspect most people who have them would be satisfied with actually living in their homes for a few years instead of playing Monopoly. I won't be selling or moving out unless it is with a Lotto win or in a body bag, so my house losing value would make the same difference to me as it having increased has. Bugger-all.
I find it amusing that Hosking's "offering" appears the day after a week of over 200,000 vaccinations, with a best day of over 30,000 was announced. Perhaps some beneficent deity has a sense of irony?
"magic' Mike??.. you mean mah jerk, surely.... enjoy the trip.. soundtrack should have been 'city of new orleans'.. with 'taumaranui on the main trunk line'...
We have a problem in that many people do not have family homes. I fail to see how taxing those who finally get one will help with the problem. The ideas above seem a bit like TOP policy, which we were all apparently too stupid to appreciate. Despite the $1 million exemption, I remain as stupid as ever.

Damn. Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running was released in 1973. Seems like just yesterday to me 😟
Your headline filled me with joy but alas my spirits were dashed by the reality that Mike lives on.
