I've increasingly come to love our Thursday visits to Kia Kaha school. You capture childhood thinking so well. Kids are naturally curious and tend to kindness, but many of our institutions and family environments stamp that out.

Taking a family member to a medical appointment today I went past the encampment here in Ōtautahi - in Cranmer Sq. Somewhat like a refugee camp, if refugees had flash tents, yurts, camper buses and portaloos. So many children visible. What are they doing all day? "Home schooled" I suppose. I just hope there's a way back for some of those young people.

Echoing Quentin McD.......you do have a lovely respect for the 'child consciousness' which you express with the word rather captivatingly. You'd be a massive grandfather I imagine; "HoHoHo E-Bikes all round!" 🤗

I wish Miss Barry would come to Wellington and sort out these protestors and their poo flinging.

Me too. Love the wit of More Than A Fielding.....and the wit in the comments it excites. There is a palpable sense of whanaungatanga arising therefrom. Important in these vicious times. And yes......Miss Barry. I suspect she's fairly Anglican although very much capable of stridency which being bright she strategically manages for the love of the kids. Tip to Barbara Cartland as chronicler: I hope she is keeping her powder dry for when Principal Land Agent Of Artichoke Real Estate seeks to importune her. Oh Yes !

A person, a snob, told me I was the least snobby person he'd ever met. Somehow I've become an absolutely snobby bastard over what's happening in Wellington. Dear perceptive Caleb: "Dad can be a snob but I think he’s got a point, especially when you look at what's happening in Wellington." You bet he's got a point and I don't know that he's a double-cab Ford Ranger either. Meanwhile......hearty sense of aroha for Ukrainians......it hurts to hear Trump's best buddy, just today a genius according to Trump, talking about the "denazification" of that country. As though......
