6.45am Wake to frankly scary and alarming news that broke while I was sleeping. Also there is a tsunami warning. We’ll deal with the big news once I’ve fully absorbed and processed the shock and trauma, but first what's the story with those waves?
In a tsunami and earthquake-riddled day - Pandemic aside- I think this "Beware the Tides of March" edition of More Than A Feilding deserves to be issued free to the denizens of twitter and any other platform it stands on; if only to ensure my MP gets her just deserts...
"The Minister who’s facing the cameras for this is Kiri Allan and the share of audience hugely impressed by her work appears to be approximately 110%."
Ah..'Mandolin Wind'..And in your other news, more on the reality of uncertainty despite our illusory sense of control over it all. That really annoys a certain societal subset. Nice writing DS; as usual.
That headline wrote itself, didn’t it, David? Kiri Allan was very impressive today. I’m picking she’s watched her boss at a few 1pm stand-ups. Great to see a new Minister rise to the occasion
The Minister who’s facing the cameras for these emergencies today Kiri Allan and, the audience hugely impressed included me too, she should have a good political ministerial future ahead, Rod did bloody well with those lyrics too. cheers

Hi Dave
I’m
With you about Kiri Allen. Clarity, information and empathy.

It has been a weirdly distracting and unsettling day. We live in interesting times.
Another epic tale to finish a week.
As for the sailing, "Learning To Fly" (either Tom Petty or Pink Floyd) would at least have shown a little lateral thinking.
I especially liked "We have a lot on our plates, and a lot riding on them." Cue Simon and Garfunkel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNt5FnMK2sM
Wasn't it "irredeemably" - as in irredeemably pluvial?
Well (cough) I like "Sailing". I used to love it as the theme for a TV series yonks ago about an aircraft carrier.
But watching those things whizz around in the Americas Cup races....well, they're hardly sailing, are they? More like skating.
