What’s a life worth now?

You're in the mall when you hear it: some kind of popping sound in the distance, kids with fireworks, maybe.

But then a moment of eerie stillness is followed by more of the fireworks sound and there’s also screaming and shrieking and now here come people running for their lives.

Does anyone of us, here in this country, ever want to see such a thing?
