God, life can be cruel sometimes can’t it?

If only everyone was like him. He was so very warm, so very generous, so very considerate, so very decent. Plenty of people have those qualities but I can think of hardly anyone I've met who had them as richly as he did.

Let me be one more person to quote from his maiden speech last week:

It’s hard to be poor. It’s expensive to be poor, and moreover public discourse is making it socially unacceptable to be poor

It takes you back to the deaths of Rod Donald, of Norm Kirk, the shock of it, the regret of it.

So very sorry for everyone he loved and everyone who loved him.
